Show ELIZABETH CECELIA BROWN DEE RESEARCH CENTER Ehzabeth Ceceha Brown Dee (1921-1990) had a hfclong, keen mterest m the visual arts. She enrolled m the Umvers1ty of Utah m 1939 but soon mterruptcd her studies to enhst m the U.S. Army Women's Auxiliary Corps as a draftswoman. In 1942 she studied at the Memzmger Art Institute m Detr01t, Michigan, and later returned to Utah to work as a wmdow designer. Soon after her marriage to Thomas D Dec, II, 111 1949 Mrs. Dec worked to enrich the arts m Ogden through volunteer work at the Bertha Eccles Art Center and with the Ogden Symphony-Ballet Guild. Mrs. Dee would have been thrilled with a new museum facihty dedicated to research by students and 111dcpendent scholars. Mr. Dee, who chairs the Dee Foundation, cont111ues his association with the Umvers1ty of Utah as a member of the National Advisory Council and as a niaJor supporter of health sciences, the arts and humamt1es at the U of U and throughout northern Utah. The Lawrence T and Janet T Dee Foundation takes great pleasure 111 honoring the memory ofEhzabeth Cecelia Brown Dee through the ded1cat1on of this important Museum resource. R ICHARD AND SHIRLEY H EMINGWAY GALLERY Know111g of their parents' 111terest m the visual arts, and their long assooatlon with the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, the children ofRichard K. (1920-1996) and Shirley S. (1924-1992) Hemmgway provided a generous grant from the Hem111gway Family Foundation to dedicate a gallery m their name. Shirley Hem111gway served on the Museum s Advisory Board, and supported Art 111 Bloom events at the Museum. Both she and her husband gave tirelessly of their time and resources to health care, fine arts, and other civic organ1zat1ons along the Wasatch Front. Richard Henungway was one of Utah s n1ost d1stmgmshed bankers, havmg built both Commercial Security Bank and Idaho Bank & Trust mto important Mounta111 West bankmg 111st1tut1ons before their sale to Key Bank 111 1987 Henry S.
