Show ( THIRD SATURDAY EVENTS Under the duection of Rebecca Pickett, followed by Megan Hallett in November, the following events were presented for famihes: June 15, 2002 Junior Art in Bloom Youngsters learned to create a floral arrangement based on a UMFA work of art July 20, 2002 Amenca. Amenca. A Celebration of Amencan Culture and Art All th1ngs Amencan were celebrated with art activities, music, family entertainment and Amencan food. The UMFA American Art collection was featured. August 17, 2002 Still Life Paintings were created by participants, following observation of examples in the gallenes. September 21, 2002 Portraits were the subjects pursued by those attending. October 19, 2002 Masks throughout the Museum were studied, followed by the creation of masks by attendees. November 16, 2002 Sandpaintings, in the Native Amencan manner, were created. December 21, 2002 Citi-scapes were painted by everyone, inspued by the large paintings by Yvonne Jacquette in the exhibit "Aeriel Muse." January 18, 2003 Impressionist Paintings were studied and personal examples were created by attendees. February 15, 2003 Animals in Art Fun and fabulous animals were made after observing the "Menagene: Animals in Art" exhibit. March 15, 2003 Book Illustrations Participants studied book illustrations by Salvador Dalt for the book "Abee in Wonderland" then drew their ) own illustration. April 19, 2003 Jewelry Making Using inspuation from the High School Jewelry Exhibit, children made their ownJewelry May 17, 2003 Paper Flowers Guests were encouraged to look for examples of flowers in the works of art displayed in the museum then make the1r own colorful paper flowers. |
