Your support, time, energy, and unique talents are very much appreciated all year long. Thank you for helping to keep our programs going; especially dunng the Olympics. • ~ I ~ = (~~ @] ~ The PA fil1rners Post Due to the fact that the world will be commg to Salt Lake City dunng the month of February for the Olympics, we are gomg to try somethmg a little different for the pARTners traimng and Museum in the Classroom. Please read this carefully. We will not do a formal traming sess10n for PA R1rners. Instead, I will be mailing out a traimng packet for you to read and know when you arnve for PAR1rners tours beginmng February 26 after the Olympics have left our fine city The theme for PA R1rners will be Multi-cultural (the focus will be the availability of materials m different cultures) We will have multi-cultural kits filled with hands-on matenals from the Teacher Resource Center set out m some of the gallenes Students will be able to handle obJects using the white gloves. I will come up with some stones for you to tell based on gods, myths and legends from different cultures. If there are quest10ns or concerns about the pARTners trammg packet, I will meet with Daily Teams at their houses to clanfy the matenals. = i= = = i= i i i i = = i i-i For the Museum m the Classroom session, I will 'fil be givmg out a booklet for teachers to use as a pre-visit and post-visit lesson. It will be up to ~ .~ @] • • the teachers to help prepare their students·for the tours by teachmg through this booklet. This 1s a lot to ask, but 1t 1s the only solution I could come up with bemg that none of us will be able to get out to the schools dunng the month of February due to the fact that the Olympic visitors will be usmg our streets and highways. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call me and we can discuss. Otherwise, look for a hefty packet of paper m your mail ·sometime around the beginnmg of February. Please read 1t.
