Show 3471 Lint- D 1494 are up there. BY ME. BLACKMAR: Q I want to ask you about this place, Lees Ferry, how large a place is that now? A When we were there, there was one man living there, the water resource branch gauger; I believe his name was Cockrough, as I remember it. Q No stores or anything of that kind? A No sir. He also ran the ferry there; when any one came to cross, he would take them across on the ferry. Q Was that a cable ferry down there? A Yes sir, it was. Just before we got there, a bunch of boy scouts had went across; the ferry sank with them; they lost both cars, but the gauge man had bis canoe out there, and he pulled them all out; no one was drowned. MR. BLACKMAR: That is all, I think, Mr. Lint. |
