Show 3437 Nims- C 1460 A Why, on the first expedition I made one hundred and twenty- eight pictures, that is, that the negatives were in condition to print from; other exposures were lost, that is, some rolls were lost entirely, and some had gotten wet. One of these pictures here-- THE SPECIAL MASTER: Never mind, Mr. Nims. A -- is a pretty good example of spoiled pictures. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q I simply want to know, were the pictures taken from the North wash and down to Lees Ferry lost or destroyed or damaged, or why can't you produce them? A There is a few of them that were destroyed, spoiled, and this set of pictures I prepared for T. C. Henry, one of the company, living here in Denver. Q This set you brought here? A Yes. Q What has become of the others? A The others were here -- I don't know -- I turned them all over to Mr. Henry. What became of the others I don't know. These I found in a second- hand store; the people had bought his library, with these pictures. Q At any rate, you haven't got the others? A Sir? Q You haven't got the pictures from the North wash down? A No, I never had the balance of the whole set that I made. MR. FARNSWORTH: That is all, Mr. Nims. |
