Show 3399 1422 MR. FARNSWORTH: We were handed, last evening, what purports to be the original notes of Mr. Nims, and a transcript of those notes marked Exhibit 174. We have not been able to get clear through the stenographic notes. Mr. Hilton, who knows something of stenography, states as far as he went the only improvement that he could suggest to the transcribed copy was the use of the word " float" as originally written by the typist here on Exhibit 174, but which has been changed in lead pencil to " boat". He thinks it is " float". If you recall the testimony of the witness, he speaks of floats, losing floats through the rapids there at a number of places, those floats being tin containers, as I understand. MR. BLACKMAR: Zinc. MR. FARNSWORTH: I think the word as the typist wrote it is correct, and the lead pencil is not correct. MR. COLLINS: Let me make a explanation -- THE SPECIAL MASTER: I don't think there is any necessity for it. MR. FARNSWORTH: We have no objection to both going in. Are you going to offer the notes, also?
