Show 3431 Nims- C 1454 show the ones that were patented or patent applied for. There was only a very small area where patent was applied for. MR. BLACKMAR: A lot of those fellows would go down there and just work through the season. THE SPECIAL MASTER: I suppose they staked out the claims in the regular way. MR. BLACKMAR: They would stake out their claims, and as I understand, put in the winter down there; that is all they would ever do; never even go to the Land Office. As I understand it, they just went down there and worked through the winter. THE SPECIAL MASTER: I think we ought to have what-ever evidence there is on that subject. BY MR.
