Show EXPLANATORY The water diverted from Crystal Creek by feeder canal to be constructed will be com.ing.led with the storage water of Kolob Creek at a point situated N 1400 feet and E 3790 feet from the SW corner of section 36, T38S, RllW, SLB&M; said point being the intersection of the last tangent in the diverting channel and the high water sin. on the adjacent side of storage water in Kolob Reservoir. The number of persons to receive the water to be appropriated under this application tor a domestic and industrial purpose in Hurricane, Virgin, LaVerkin, foquerviile. Wallsbwrg, St. George and vicinity, Washington County, are 7,000 persons and the number <of stock to be watered are 50,000 sheep, 5,000 cattle, and 200 horses. The number of persons to receive said water for domestic and industrial purposes in Cedar City and vicinity, Iron County, and number of stock to be watered are the same numbers shown above. The areas of use for the above purposes are cwered in the legal descriptions of the irrigated acreages as amended. The legaj description of the incorporated area of Cedar City is as foljows: "Reginning at the SE corner of the NE^NE^ of section 14, T36S, RllW, Sli-bM, which point is at the mouth of Coal Creek Canyon (said point of beginning being the initial point designated under Section 1, Chapter 20, Laws of Utah, 1921.) and running thence N to the NE corner of the SE{SE^ of section 2, in township and range aforesaid; thence W to NW corner of SE^SWj of section 2; thence S to the NE comer of the SW-J-NW-} of section 11, township and range aforesaid; thence W to the NW corner of the SWjNW^ of section 10, in township and range aforesaid; thence S to the quarter section corner on W boundary section 15, in township and range aforesaid; thence E to the NW corner of the E^SW^ of section 15, in township and range aforesaid; thence S to the SW comer of the NE^NW^ of section 22, in township arid r*nge aforesaid; thence E to the SE corner of the NW^NE^ section 23, in township and range aforesaid; thence N to the place of beginning.n Too intake to the power penstock is situated at a point S 150 feet and W 100 feet from NK corner of section 29, T37S, RllW, SLB&M, at elevation 8,000. The first ). ..veo pi ant midway along the penstock is situated at a point N 2100 feet and W 1185 let". from SE corner of section 20, T37S, RllW, SLB&M, at elevation 7450; and the number ami make of wheels employed in the development of power will be two (2) Pelton Turbines, the siae of wheels will be twenty-nine (29) inch, each wheel will operate anoer a head of 550 feet and the output in horsepower will be 2000. The second power plant will be situated on the lower end of the penstock at a point M 57 5 feci and E 485 feet from SW corner of section 17, T37S, RllW, Sliiv>M. ar elevation 6 350. The number and make of the wheels employed in the development of power will be two (2) Pelton Turbines, the size of the wheels wi l[ be twenty-nine (29) inches, each wheel will operate under a head of 1100 feet arid the output in horsepower will be 4000. All cr part of the storage water or direct flow diverted as explained heretofore, will be conveyed by a canal or pipeline to be constructed Northerly from the Penstock to Shurtz Creek and comingled with the water of Shurtz Creek at a point situated S 1320 feet and E 1800 feet from the NW corner of section 9, H7S, R.liW, SLB<:<M. Said water will be allowed to flow westerly down the natural channel of Shtitz Creek and will be rediverted with the direct flow therefrom at the points of rediversion heretofore described in Explanatory of this Application and used for the purposes and during the period shown heretofore. Ail or part of the storage water or direct flow will be conveyed by extension of the above canal or pipeline to be constructed Northerly from Shurtz Creek to Coal Creek and comingled with the waters of Coal Creek at a point situated N 135 feet and W 1770 feet from E\ corner of section 13, T36S, RllW, SLB&M. Said water will be allowed to flow down Coal Creek and will be rediverted with the direct flow therefrom at the rediversion points heretofore described in Explanatory and used for the purposes and during the periods shown heretofore. |
