A team composed largely of frosh stars from the preceding year won the tennis championship for Pi Kappa Alpha by nosing out the Army in the final round. ? Herald Carlston, Ab Heiner, Fred Glade, and Dee Tanner proved strong enough to down all rivals in earlier rounds of the competition. Marv Alter, Bill Goeglin, and Dan Freed were the standard bearers of the Army. The defending champion Sigma Chis were eliminated in the early rounds by the new champs. WRESTLING ? In the closest and most fiercely fought finale ever held, Sigma Nu defended her mat championship by winning over Sigma Chi, 11-9. ? Of the twelve teams entering the tourney, three Sigma Nu entries reached the semi-finals.
