Show I TfflU UTON IAN Arthur Freber Director CONCERT ORCHESTRA ? Under the direction of Professor Arthur P. Freber the University of Utah Concert Orchestra has finished a year of noteworthy achievements. At all dramatic functions of the year the orchestra has rendered music of the highest quality. In addition to featuring music for all assemblies, the Orchestra has put on some notable performances in combination with the glee clubs. The most important of these was the assembly in which the orchestra was assisted by the men's glee club and a piano octette. The Orchestra also presented its annual sym- phony concert during the spring quarter at Kingsbury Hall. This year's concert was received most enthusiastically by a large audience of students and downtown people. A feature of the program was the initial performance in Salt Lake City of Ravel's new and already famous selection, "Bolero." ?The officers of the orchestra for the past year were Robert Dobson, manager, William Hogenson, assistant manager, Lorna Van Cott, concert mistress, and David Bonner, librarian. It was under the guidance of these officers and Assistant Professor Freber that the orchestra was able to round out so successful a year, CONCERT ORCHESTRA Two Hundred Eighty-two |
