Show 54 either partially or totally. Various kinds of menu items for graphical display purposes, such as scaling and windowing, are also employed. Filing capability is also available to save or retrieve external files which contain both the graphical and structural information of control-units. The success and completeness of the GCS has demonstrated that the programming environment PSL, upon which this design aid is built, is indeed amenable and especially powerful for the development of a large integrated system. The Apollo Domain system is equipped with several charming features which help to make it a nice workstation for engineering designs. 5.2 Future Work As both the PSL programming environment and the Apollo Domain system were still in the development phase while GCS was being developed, there are still a lot of features that can to improve the system and to provide a better system. to employ the BitPad to drive the physical cursor be implemented GCS once tried on the Apollo screen. However, the interface for the BitPad was not supported until the recent release of Aegis 6.0. Thus, designers can presently only use the touchpad and the keyboard to interact with GCS. Further exploration of the use of and incorporation of the BitPad and the mouse will provide a better interface. Furthermore, multiple graphics windows for several control-unit displays at the same time may be employed. Grouping all the menu items into one display and implementing them in a pop-up fashion to switch back and forth between the graphics and the menu windows would give more space for the |
