Show 16 may assign his own sequence of Display Manager commands to them for use in his program. In the beginning of the development of GCS, the arrow keys on the keyboard were the only devices available for positioning the cursor. As it tended to be inefficient, the BitPad was used after the touchpad and BitPad became available. However, system support for these devices was not available in a meaningful form until the recent Aegis 6.0 release. Hence, after an initial attempt at using the BitPad and the mouse by means of software, we had to give up because it tended to be very slow. In the current system, the touchpad coupled with the use of special function keys (for reading the cursor positions from the graphics window) is employed to locate the cursor.
