Direct contact, ingestion, inhalation, and inhalation resulting in ingestion of the lead and/or arsenic contaminated soils and dust pose the primary exposure pathways. 13. RELEASE 4. OR THREAT OF,RELEASE During site assessment (990 - 1992) activities, EPA identified lead and arsenic in the soil of residential properties in the vicinity of Bingham Creek Channe.l as a potential threat to human health and welfare. EPA perfor.med a removal action to the potential threat posed by the contaminated soil in 50 residential properties. The presence of the large volume of tailings at the Site containing high concentrations of lead and arsenic poses a continuing threat of release down-channel and recontamination of previously remediated residential property. The health based action level for lead at the above·mentioned residential removal was 2,500 mg/Kg.· This level was designed to address only the most critical levels of contamination. mitigate {. 15.
