Show 27 Anal scutum shorter than the valves, a transverse furrow before the caudal point. Valves slightly margined. Body segments 52 in male, 53 to 56 in females. The posterior gonopod elongate, slender and much curved. The ventral plate broad, the longitudinal suture distinct, the narrowed apical part extending over the telopodites. (Figs. 91-92). The measurements of this species are as follows: total length, one male (P.I. No. 84) 180 mm.; five females (Nos. 81, 82, 83, 85 and 86) from 130 to 183 mm.; length of head, male 8 mm., females from 7 to 8 mm.; breadth of head, male 16 mm., females 13 to 16 mm.; length of collum, male 9 mm., females 7 to 9; breadth of collum, male 16 mm., females 15 to 16 mm.; length of second plate, male 4 mm., females 3.5 to 4 mm.; breadth of second plate, male 22 mm., females 21 to 22 mm.; length of cauda, male 5 mm., females 4 mm, to 5 mm., breadth of cauda, male 13 mm., females 17 to 18 mm.; length of antennae, male 5 mm., females 5 to 6 mm.; length of first pair of legs, 6 mm. No. 84), the collection, at the University of Utah. 33. date and collector uncertain. one female allotype and four paratypes are all in Acladocricus porus N. Sp. Figs. 95-97. This dusky type. species resembles the preceding in size. The coloration is not very uniform being general with the prozonites lighter but not so distinctly differ-entiated as in the genero The head, collum, antennae, legs and anal scutum and valves are dark but lighter than in the metazonites in coloration. Head smooth, the median sulcus somewhat wavy in the region between the antennae. Anten cones at the antennae 13 and 16 in different sides, and eyes are as usual; number of sense in 6 rows; number of ocelli, 32 in 6 rows. nae tergites have the same sculpturing as the generotype. Segmental suture longitudinal one distinctly developed, the pores locating at the intersection of these. Col lum the longest and nar-rowest, second plate the shortest, the tergites at mid-body region the Collum and other and broadest. Legs spined as usual, the male with tarsal pads except on the last eight or nine pairs of legs. Body segments more numerous than those of the type, 59 in number. The ventral plate of the anterior gonopods seems somewhat narrow and the apex more abruptly accuminate (Fig. 95). Only one male, the holotype, is found. The measurements are as follows: total length, 173 mm.; length of head, 7 mm.; the breadth of head, 15 mm.; length of collum, 7 mm.; breadth of collum, 1 7 mm.; length of second plate 3.5 mm.; breadth of second plate 26 mm.; length of cauda, 5 mm.; breadth of cauda, 16 mm.; length of antennae, 7 mm.; length of first pair of legs, 6 mm. Acladocricus major N. Figs. 93-94. Sp. This species differs from the generotype and the preceding species in its much greater size darker, more uniform coloration. The coloration is uniformly reddish-black; only the dorsum of the prozonites slightly lighter. Thus it is distinguishable superficially at first sight from other species. and Head smooth with a straight sulcus lying in a depression in the region between the antennae. Number of sensory cones, 43 in 11 rows at each antennae; ocelli 28 in 5 rows. Dorsum of tergites coriaceously striated and punctured. Scobina subcircular in shape. Collum rounded at each end below. The collum the longest, the narrowest; the second plate the shortest, the tergites . at mid-body region the broadest . |
