V. Chamberlin, who not only all his properties, such as literature, equipment, and specimens, at my disposal, but also gave liberally of his time to direct, encourage and support me in my I put . studying. I wish to express my gratitude to all the members of my supervisory committee, Behle, Dr. Chamberlin (Chairman), Dr. Cottam, Mr. Mulaik, and Dr. Woodbury.
