This Coccyzus has also an extensive range in South America, as will be seen from m y list of localities. I have compared skins from Lima, Cayenne, Pebas, S.E. Brazil, and Buenos Ayres. The tinge of ochraceous colour below varies, as also the cinereous colour of the head ; but the species may be always distinguished from C. minor (with which it has been confounded) by its black beak. |
