WIMMER was thereupon recalled to the witness stand, and having been heretofore duly sworn herein, further testified as follows: FURTHER EXAMINATION BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Mr. Wimmer, you remember testifying as to comparative costs between taking supplies down the river on the Richardson party and taking supplies overland to some place? A Yes sir. Q As I recall, you based your estimate of costs on the river on a five- day round trip, did you not? A Well, sir, I wouldn• ft be sure of that. Q Didn• ft you have a memorandum or something here? A I think it is longer than that. I didn• ft have it; I felt for it that day. THE SPECIAL MASTER: It lay in my mind that you based your estimate on a five- day trip, and I noticed in your state-ment which you signed here, given to the government, you said the round trip took seven or eight days.
