Show 7202 Grimm- D 5183 Q Both of you had oars, did you? A Yes sir, we had two sets of oars. Q Did you come back down stream? A Yes sir, with a raft, though. Q What kind of raft did you bring back down? A We brought a raft of lumber. Q How much lumber? A There was about six thousand feet in it. Q Where did you bring that lumber down to? A Sir? Q Where did you take that lumber to? A We took it to Moab. Q What did you do with boat? A Well, when we was coming down with our lumber we trailed the boat behind us, behind the raft. Q How did you guide the raft coming down? A We had oars on it, some very large oars that we made, one at the rear and one at the front, and we guided the raft with that. Q Did you get hung up anywhere coming down by rocks or sandbars or anything else? A We hung up at a rock I would say fifteen minutes in the swift rapid right where Castle creek empties into the river, but we soon got off of that rock and went on our way |
