FARNSWORTH: Q Have you made surveys south of the San Juan, or have you made a study of official surveys so that you know whether water from the San Juan or its tributaries could be stored at some point in New Mexico and reach that section of land in Utah by gravity flow? A I have studied the government contour maps; I have never made any surveys relative to the storage. I feel that it could be done. THE SPECIAL MASTER: That would depend on whether you could run the ditches; it wouldn't depend purely on contours. BY MR, FARNSWORTH: Q Are you familiar with the country, the surface of the country through there, as to whether it is cut up or not? A It is cut up more or less; it is a country over which ditches could be built, all right. Q It is? A Yes sir. Q Do you know whether there are any irrigation projects that include any areas similarly located within it? |
