Q Did you ever happen to see anybody come down the Colorado river in his boat, anybody that lived around in that section of the country? A I recall a fellow named Billy Brown, another fellow by the name of Welsh came down. Q Do you know where they lived? A They lived up about twelve or fifteen miles up the river from Moab on the bank of the river; they have ranches there. Q You have seen them come down from the ranches in their boats, have you? A Yes sir. Q Have you ever seen them go up? A No, I never saw them go up; I saw them gone down. Q Do you know what became of their boats when they brought them down? A I suppose they would take them back with them. Q Of course, don't say what you suppose. Did you see their boats left there after they left town, did you ever see their boats after they had gone back to their ranches? |
