A Yes, a man named Meskin, and Kimball, and Turner; they was doing work on the river; I don't remember how often, but they had boats there they was running. Q Did you see boats go up and down stream on the occasion of your visits to the river? A Yes, but I don't remember who they were, or what they had, now. Q In going up stream, how would they get up stream? A A good deal of the way they rowed their boats; then over the heavy water they had to tow for a ways, where they didn't get the advantage of back current in the riffles. Q In 1916 were you running cattle on the west side of the river? A Yes sir, I had cattle at Tickaboo, and Good Hope bar, also. My cattle ranged over the two places. Q Did you take a boat trip yourself at about that time? A A short trip with Mr. Turner, up the river.
