Casamanze 10*0 4*8 1*2 4. L. icterus. W.Africa 9*5 4*9 1*2 The primaries in L. monteiri seem hardly to have attained their full growth. The specimen is marked a female. VIDUA PRINCIPALIS. Vidua principalis, Linn. ; anted, p. 144. Male. July 18th, 1869. This bird appears to be in full winter plumage, aud agrees very well with a male bird in my collection, which was shot at Otjimbinque, Damara Land, by the late Mr. Andersson, on July 8th, 1866.
