I pulled the gun out with my right hand and walked as fast as I could. I could see he had already started pounding on the door. Dejavu. Before I could say anything, Sarah opened the door from the inside. I watched a reddish cloud appear around Cox's head. Pepper spray. His hands shot to his face. He dropped to the ground and rolled up into a little ball, protecting his head where Sarah was kicking the crap out of it. I put the gun back in my coat and raced up to Sarah, "Come on! Come on!" She gave him a solid kick to his face as though she had been in training. I thought I heard his nose crack. He howled. "Come on! Let's call the police. He's violated the restraining order. He's going to get convicted. He won't get bail again. He's finished." Dale was completely incapacitated. "Nephi, you don't understand. He just keeps coming after me." She kicked him again in the face and continued to spray him in the eyes and nose. |
