Show Coffee Drinkers Preferred Page 34 of 307 as their special powdered lemonade. When in Rome always give to the Cretins what the Cretins demand. I heard Kayla replying to the boys, "You know sad old Nephi doesn't have a T.V. set." I literally had to feel my lips with my hand to see if the smile was still there. I even peeked into a small mirror that I keep on the wall. Yes, Steve, I have a good mask. It was a necessary part of my survival in these parts, and I needed it not to crack now, no matter how much I allowed Kayla's ignorant condescensions to get to me. You see, Kayla cannot understand why someone would not have a television. She has asked about this before and I have told her that allowing a television into my abode is like opening up a sewer vent and wallowing in clumpy sewage. She has replied to this, "You poor dear, they have very reasonable packages with the cable company now, it's not at all expensive." She literally does not understand why someone would want to take the dummy bull's-eye off his forehead. I have even tried this, "I don't like the commercials," to which she replies, "Well, then, how do you know what to buy?" When I reply that I buy what I need, she looks at me like everyone with a Masters Degree in English must have taken the short bus to their classes. It is literally all I can do to keep from throttling her around the neck and watching her eyes bulge from her face in surprise. |
