Show Members of the Associated Men Students' Council were (front row) J. Lance Parker, Robert B. Matlock, Jeffrey S. Montague, (row 2) Owen G. Reese, and William T. Smart. AMS Representing the men on campus, AMS imparted a sense of unity to the University. Functioning primarily to recognize outstanding male leaders on campus, it sponsored the Awards Banquet in the spring. At this honorary dinner the members of Skull and Bones and Owl and Key were recognized. Citizenship awards were also presented at this time. Elected on the platform to "do nothing," officers of AMS rescinded and led campus men through a whirlwind year. Always looking out for the interests of their charges, the leaders created a "front seat" for University men. Their treasurer corresponded with other universities to gain ideas to improve the activities of AMS. Thanks to the officers AMS had a good year. Owen G.
