Show Sound Off Seibert W. Mote, Bookstore manager, presents views. The voice of the unheard little man isn't stifled any longer. Sound Off is designed as a sounding board for student opinion. This union committee plans weekly discussions on the current campus problems such as parking, professor evaluations, bookstore prices, student apathy, and student government money requests. The discussion group is informal, small and most often excites campus controversy. Dr. Helbling disputes availability of faculty parking. National Issues Forum J. D. Williams charged Democrats with irresponsibility. Phil Hansen airs beliefs on T.V. debate. "What's news?" This question is answered via panels, symposiums, lectures and discussions on hot current event, sponsored by National Issues Forum. The discussions involve authorities from the campus community and local guest speakers. On Tuesday, February 22, Professor J. D. Williams and Utah Attorney General Phil Hansen exchanged verbal blows in a television debate over two main issues: if Democratic Party issues ought to be public issues, and if county government had been falsely accused of mismanagement. National Issues Forum is one of twenty Union Program Council Committees. Ill |
