Show Paul Koelliker President David Anderson Pledge Vice President Lambda Delta Sigma Lambda Delta Sigma, sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but open to all students, offered opportunity for personal development in the areas of fellowship, leadership, intellectuality, cultural life, and spirituality. These goals, known as the five ideals, led to social activities, monthly worship services, special firesides, and participation in intermural athletics. Individual chapters and the interchapter organization planned and carried out several service projects. Adding excitement to the year was the opening of the new East Institute of Religion. With locations now available on upper and lower campus Lambda Delt membership increased and four new chapters were formed, including three women's and one men's. Among the special activities of the year were a party for all new pledges, a formal dance at the capital rotunda, and the annual election banquet at which all the new chapter officers were announced. A New Year's Eve dinner dance was held at the new building. Individual chapters participated in conjoint parties, date parties, and regular meetings each week.
