Show Graduate School Henry Eyring Dean of the Graduate School Founded in the mid 1940's, the Graduate School at the University of Utah has expanded to where it now has over 2200 people working toward advanced degrees. Last year at the school, 296 masters and 96 doctoral degrees were awarded. Also involved in this expansion is the construc- tion of several buildings and research facilities, including the new Physics Building and an addition to the present Engineering Building. Besides affording post-graduate work from some sixty departments at the University, the graduate school has received government grants. Law One of the major assets of the College of Law is the personal and individualized instruction and counseling of students. Frequent informal contact between faculty and student contributes greatly to the development of professional ideals and attitudes. Another benefit is the new College of Samuel D. Thurman Dean of the College of Law Law Building, completed in 1963, a spacious structure including an 80,000 volume law library, a courtroom, student lounge, and several small conference rooms for students. The School also publishes the Utah Law Review and cooperates with the Legal Aid Society to allow students an internship before graduation. 28 |
