Show Cross Country The University of Utah Cross Country team did an outstanding job during the 1965 season. In addition to the dual meet victories over Wyoming, Utah State, and Weber they also won the Oregon State University Invitational meet and established a new record for the Oregon State course. The team climaxed the season by coming in second in the West Coast Cross Country Championships that were held at Stanford University. In order to finish second they had to defeat such track powers as Occidental University and Stanford University. Pete Carlson, in his second year as Cross Country and Track coach, brought his runners through with great success. Cross Country runners were (front row) Clinton Passey, Charles Schuch, Don Kocherhans, Roger Olpin, (row 2) Gary Lambert, Jim Hawkins, Alan Seley, Don Schultz, (row 3) R. Taylor and Mike Roberts. Cross Country runners kept in daily practice. The Cross Country team in action. |
