Show Continuing Education The College of Continuing Education is the agency through which educational opportunities are offered to the public throughout the state. The services of this College are many and varied. The Division conducts late afternoon, evening and Saturday classes. It makes available 230 university Brigham Madsen Dean of the College of Continuing Education and high school courses to anyone who can be reached by mail. One of the vital services provided by the Division is the VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) program. Conducted under the Economic Opportunities Act, it trains students in a Democratic Peace Corps. Education Asahel D. Woodruff Dean of the College of Education Making case studies for the Department of Educational Psychology, or actually putting academic principles to work through student teaching, make the courses in the Department of Education some of the most challenging on campus. The Department's members are constantly work- ing on research projects designed to answer questions such as: the effects of phonetic reading and teaching machines and the results of the new math. Broad in scope, the College not only prepares personnel as teachers, but as principals, counselors, or superintendents. 26 I |
