Show [129] ITEM 28 ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION OF THE "SOCIEDAD DE YRRIGACION Y TERRENOS DE LA BAJA CALIFORNIA. In the City of Los Angeles, County of Los Angeles, State of California, United States of America, on the 15th. day of May, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, we, the undersigned Guillermo Andrade, Hiram W. Blaisdell and William T. Heffernan, the first temporally residing at Los Angeles, married, of fifty-eight years of age, and a merchant by occupation, the second being married, forty-four years of age, a miner by occupation, and resident of Yuma, Territory of Arizona, and the last one being also a resident of Yuma, Territory of Arizona, bachelor, a physician, and of twenty-five years of age, we have met to organize an anonymous association (Sociedad Anonima), and hereby we organize it in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Mexico in a public instrument, under the following terms: First: The undersigned hereby form a corporation (Sociedad Anonima) which shall be known as "Sociedad de Yrrigacion y Terrenos de la Baja California." Second: The object of the organization of this Company is to acquire, build and own reservoirs, ditches, aqueducts and other works required to get, keep, conduct and distribute of water for the irrigation of lands. To acquire rights and concessions of waters. To supply and distribute water, by selling the rights, or by leasing the same; to acquire and own, sell, rent and lease from other lands and other real estate in the Republic of Mexico.
