Show [17] Affidavit of Witnesses. We, George W. Kelsey, of Blythe, Riverside County, California, over twenty-one years of age, and by occupation banker and rancher; and J. O. Phillips, of Blythe, Riverside County, California, over twenty-one years of age and by occupation a rancher, do solemnly swear that we have read the foregoing affidavit of Mills E. Fletcher and know the contents thereof; that we have been acquainted with said land for more than four years; that we know from personal examination of the land that the work and improvements therein stated have been made on said land and are of a reasonable value as therein stated; that the statements therein made with reference to water conditions are true; that we are not directly or indirectly interested in said land. /s/ George W. Phillips I hereby certify that the foregoing affidavit was read to or by affiants in my presence before affiants affixed their signatures thereto; that affiants have been satisfactorily identified before me by George W. Comerford of 615 International Bank Bldg., Los Angeles, California; that I verily believe affiants to be credible witnesses and the identical persons hereinbefore described; and that said affidavit was duly subscribed and sworn to before me, at my office in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, within the Los Angeles Land District, this 22nd day of January, 1916. /s/ John D.
