In Reply Please Refer to *S" El Centro 0674 "F" WJC Extension of time under the Palo Verde Mutual Water Company granted. Register and Receiver, El Centro, California. Gentlemen: May 27, 1912, Mills E. Fletcher made desert-land entry 0674, your series, embracing the NE34 Sec. 25, T. 7 S., R. 22 E., S. B. M., alleging the Palo Verde Mutual Water Company as the source of his water supply. These lands are located within the area commonly known as the Chuckawalla Valley. This entire township was omitted from the list of lands covered by the act of June 7, 1912 (37 Stat., 130), but was included in the act of March 4, 1913 (37 Stat., 1008). In the acts of April 11, 1916 (39 Stat., 49), and June 24, 1921 (42 Stat., 66), Secs. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 18 and 19 of this township and range were embraced. The purpose of each and all of said acts was to extend the period of time within which annual and final proofs should be made for certain definite periods. The act of March 4, 1913, supra, by including this township, cured whatever defect existed through any default on the part of the entryman for the failure to make annual and final proofs prior to that date.
