Show [15] bers and from water sold to them; that, on account of the stringent money market, the company has been unable to raise the necessary funds for the completion of its system by means of assessments and that, within the past sixty days the necessary consent of its members has been given to the Board of Directors to issue bonds in the sum of five hundred thousand dollars, for use in the construction and completion of its system; That said above described land lies below the line of one of the company's main canals and it will be feasible to conduct water on to all parts of said land from said canal when completed; That the Company's canal, which at the time of entry was more than five miles distant, has been completed to within one and three-quarters miles of said land; and, from my association with and knowledge of the workings of said company, I verily believe that said canal will be completed during the year 1916 for delivery of water to said land; That the land is desert in character, being a sandy silt soil, and will not grow remunerative crops without artificial irrigation; but with water will produce very remunerative crops of small grains, alfalfa, and cotton; That this application is not made for the purpose of delay, but that a full and honest compliance may be made with the desert land laws and that the land may be reclaimed and proof submitted thereon at the earliest possible moment. Wherefore, your petitioner prays that he be granted an extension of time of two years from May 27, 1916, within which to submit final proof of the cultivation and reclamation of said land. /s/ Mills E.
