Show BOARD OF REGENTSRoyden G. Derrick Chairman of the Board of RegentsThe powers of the University shall be vested in a Chancellor and twelve regents . . ." So states one of the first laws of the University of Utah.This important Board, now with seventeen members, is selected by the Governor from all parts of the state to meet monthly with President Olpin to make the basic policies for the University.These individuals play an important part in the functioning of the school and its affairs. The tireless workers transact all of the business, promote building expansion, advance all useful and fine art sciences, and authorize all purchases necessary for the school.
