S. Army is the prime mission of the Army Reserve Officers Training Corps at the University of Utah. It is one of the many such units throughout the country that trains men for four years in tactics, map reading, firing of small arms and crew-served weapons, administration, and military law before they receive the gold tars of a 2nd Lieutenant.Between their junior and senior year, the cadets complete six weeks of rigorous summer camp at Fort Lewis, Washington. Here they have a chance to display what they have learned in their three previous years of class work and drill. Social activities include the Cadet Officers Out Dinner-Dance, the Military Ball, and the annual spring picnic.Cadet Col. J. JacobsonLt. Col. R. B. Kreutzer302 |
