Show Kiochiro Asakai s spectacular Spotlight on the Orient, featuring trie Japanese ambassador and a display of art, handicraft, and music of the Far East, bore the sea! of this year s Union Program Council. Composed of program committee and directed by Adrien Foote and Miss Amy Cooke, the Council officiated at all Union functions. Thef ruits of this forum were available to both students and faculty. Art mediums were displayed in the main corridor. Fine art program were presented Sunday afternoons. Records, books, and periodicals were at disposal in the Browsing Room; craft facilities and instruc-tion in the Crafts Room; bowling, table tennis, bridge, checkers, and chess in the games area. A guest of the Council, billiards ace Willie Mosconi executed a skillful exhibition.Informal discussions, casual and conventional dances, popular and foreign movies provided entertainment for even the most fastidious. One of the included committees auditioned talent, another provided receptions for the cast of the University Theater productions. The Founder's Day Extravaganza, Union Birthday Party, and the All-Campus Conference were but a few of the other activities administrated by the Union Program Council.PROGRAM COUNCIL - Left to Right, First Row.
