Show MIKE MATTSSONPresident, IFCIn the 1959-1960 school year, IFC "came of age. It achieved maturity, responsibility and authority and laid the framework for a strong governing power. IFC-Panhellenic relations were strengthened starting with a workshop held at the beginning of fall quarter. Joint meetings were held once a month and questions relating to the Greek system as a whole were brought up and discussed. Many projects such as the revised Greek Week program were the result of the combined efforts of the two groups.A new constitution was written and accepted by IFC, giving additional authority to the Intrafraternity Council Court. IFC revamped the program of activities in which the Greeks participate. Less meaningful events were replaced by more worthwhile events. In example, the Greek games were eliminated from Greek Week and instead a panel featuring Senator Monroney and four newspaper columnists was presented at the banquet. The Student Affairs Committee accepted IFC s request to change the social regulations for all students organizations. Thech aperone rules for parties were now more feasible.IFC succeeded in establishing better faculty-fraternity relations. Co-operative work and research on rush programs aided in this achievement. In addition, a program was established whereby faculty members attended fraternity chapter dinners as guest speakers. Interfrater-nity relations reached an all time high, as IFC held many formal and informal social gatherings.Lawrence Robertson Richard WilliamsDonald DeVore Donald Goodman Phil Horsley¦Mi '•Richard Ballingham John WalkertMSMBill Beagles4 HkBruce Zenger Thomas Clark Dennis Merback Gordon OttingerDick BirdOrlando Delogu Ernest Knowles |
