Show Bernadine, directed by Robert Hyde Wilson, concerns a group of high school boys who fall in love with an imaginary dream girl,Bernadine, and one of the boys sets out to find her on the Itchy River in Sneaky Falls, Idaho.Jo Ailen Sjoberg played the double-lead role in the the atre-in- the -round production of Separate Tables.At the corner of First South and University Street stands a small, unimpressive gray building known as the University Playbox Theater. Regardless of its outward appearance, inside the little building glows with all the excitement of a typical theatrical atmosphere and boasts all the trimmings ,- burning lights, greasepaint, harrassed directors, and scurrying actors. Here, in close proximity to student and professional actors, small audiences get a first-hand close-up view of such productions as Separate Tables,Bernadine, Pictures in the Hallway, and two operettas ,- Down in the Valley and Trouble in Tahiti.157 |
