In instances where the newspaper offices have been destroyed by fire, the University microfilms have served as the only existing record of the paper and often of the town. The library, built to accommodate only 500,000 books, is experiencing space difficulties. As a result, most of the 500,000 books have been consigned to branch libraries *- Fine Arts, Business, Law, and Social Work. Much study space has been converted into book stacks. Half of the old "noisy room" is now stacks for the medical library. New book stacks have been built in the reference and periodical rooms. During the summer the last of the classrooms will be converted to storage space. With the addition of 20,000 books annually, it is estimated that in five years, all study space will have been converted into stack space, and the George Thomas library will have to have more branch libraries <-* or be replaced.|Robert Dee ParkPam DibbleKatherine DewitzElizabeth ClawsonLeland CaseBonnie Bagley:¦:"'¦$ '-¦'¦¦"/¦Howard CherryKaren MathewsJan PooleNancy FordJack MetcaHRobert H.
