Data from high school seniors have been included because of the social pressures confronting school-age students to use drugs. Based on the 1988 and 1989 survey, Utah was lower than the nation in proportion of students having ever used drugs, except LSD and heroin (Figure 51). But Utah was higher than the nation in the proportion of high school seniors who reported using drugs within the past month, except for cocaine (Table 61).
