Show In MemoriamBecause - for the men and women of the hilltop - the year 1953-54 was made a little more prosperous, a little smoother running, a little brighter through the influence and inspiration of our former Dean of Men, this yearbook is humbly dedicated to his memory ... to the memory of a man who, more than most, exemplified the Christian precept of service to one's fellowmen . . . who served:... 32 years on the University faculty.... 17 years as the University's Dean of Men.... as a stalwart churchman and citizen.... as "father" not only to family but to all the men who ever dormed on the University campus during his administration.... as an unfailing one-man cheering section to all the athletic teams the "U" ever sent away or welcomed home again.... as the dynamic, efficient administrator of a myriad of necessary odd jobs - ticket sales, ushering, parking - giving extracurricular events - from year to year - the finest, most dependable operational support possible.Truly . . . "in its long history none has served the school with a more steadfast devotion." |
