Navy Professorof Naval Science and Commanding Officer,Naval ROTC Unit.Navy ROTCThe gold anchor insignia on the lapel of the handsome blue uniform was the marking of a Navy ROTC man . . . although the smallest and most selective ROTC unit on campus, their military and campus activities were outstanding . . . the integrity which was associated with each Navy man commanded the respect of all University members . . . part of the Naval training consisted of the Atlantic and Pacific cruises which all of the members were eager to take . . . the well-equipped Naval Science building contained the necessary implements to train the men in the proper use of Navy materials . . . early Saturday morning drill sessions were not among the more popular of their activities, but the marching ease which was theirs at all performances displayed the truth of the old adage that "Practice makes perfect" . . . this important unit of Military Reserve gave an assurance to the surrounding community as the Naval men continued to build for our future as well as theirs.Left to right, Naval Science Department Staff: Lt.
