REMEMBER: the LIQUID CONVIVIALS . . .. . . drinking cokes together in the C.I. or sharing a Dairy Queen shake on Institute steps . . . the TWO-STEP SOIREES .... . . dressups and formals at the Union, the Rainbow, the Capitol Casbah, or El Gaucho . . . the PERPLEXITY . . .... of a solid, hectic week of rushing . . . eating candy bars or nothing at all, sleeping upright-if you got the chance . . . consuming impossible quantities of ice water . . . beaming your best "pepsodent grin" at the myriad strange faces you thought you never could remember, but somehow did . . . and still do. the PROCEDURE . . .... at meetings . . . sometimes parliamentary, sometimes something else . . . but not breaking up until you got what you were all after ... action . . . the BRAVO . . .... of competition ... of building Homecoming decorations and floats ... of Sackrushes: stepping into a gunny sack you discovered someone else had a foot in, then fearing the worst should the P.E. talent scouts be on hand to test your coordination ... of Skits and Quartets: the courage it took to write "funny" dialogue, to rehearse on cold winter dawns before your eight o'clock, and then to perform, with unsteady knees-like-jelly, in front of the student body on Kingsbury stage ... the TROPHIES ....... you bled for . . . especially those Red Cross trophies . . . and, finally, the PRAYER .... . . you offered together ... for nobility ... for a peaceful world ... for a firm future, that you might build . . . together . , ,SOCIALS |
