Show William Marsden Stewart joined us a year late after doing MS-I in Michigan. As his C. V. vividly illustrates, he was fated to return to the land of Zion. Marsden, as his many friends call him, was born in Salt Lake, but somehow ended up in Michigan. After high school, he made his way back to the valley. He earned a B.A. in Chemistry at BVU and again, somehow, was zipped back to Michigan for the first year of med school. Well, happily, he returned again. While at the U. of U. School of Medicine, Marsden has done the requisite time working his inferior dorsal aspect to a frazzle in David Apple's now-infamous Future Ophthalmologists of America Ocular Pathology Sweat Shop, grinding out data for journal articles and book chapters. Another victim of the Early "let's see how you crawl" Ophtho match-cum·duckshoot, Marsden has seen the light. According to a source who wishes to remain anonymous, Marsden will be apply· ing to anesthesia programs, while doing a year of clinical work. Marsden has found time in his busy med school schedule to do volunteer work at the Utah Valley Emergency Room and to teach English to Southeast Asian refugees. He enjoys playing classical music, as well as playing racquetball, swimming, and playing tennis. In the years B.M.S. (Before Med School), Marsden served a mission in Taiwan. He belongs to Phi Kappa Phi honor society, the AMA-MSS, AMSA, USMA, and Collegium Aesculepium. MARSDEN STEWART 103 |
