Show "Uintas!"· MIKE PRIEBE I'm the chubby one standing June, 1986 A few musings on the last four years ... When it is all said and done, the things about the last four years that mean the most to me are the people I've met along the way. Sure, we've all learned a lot of medicine and worked with many good and bad residents and attendings, but for me it's my classmates who really made med school. I had a great time during those first two years, at first with those crazy Wyomingites. I'm not from Wyoming, but I've frequent· ly been honored by people mistaking me for a Cowboy (GO UTES!). I also quickly fell into step with those who like to have a beer or two (or three ... ) after class, between classes, or anytime. It wasn't until my third or fourth year, however, that I finally began to appreciate the whole class. I had clerkships with many of you, who until then were only nameless faces. I began realizing that these people are all right. It's amazing how well you get to know each other when you work side by side for six weeks, taking call every 3rd or 4th night. I'm truly thankful for those opportunities. We do have a marvelous class, and I'm lucky to have been a part of it. Also, my most memorable moment- I'll never forget that night in June, 1984, with the dual bachelor party for Steve Maertens f, myself. Along with 30 + classmates we watched as a live stripper named Bianca took it off, again and again. What a night! (Editor's note: He's not lying. She showed amazing crowd control while adult health professionals did incredible things with dollar bills and candles. We could dedicate a whole yearbook to our night with Bianca ... ) That had to be one of the best bachelor parties ever. Long Live Bianca! on the grourid. Mike and Donna, July 21st, 1984 96 |
