By 1911 John B. AShton had built three threatres in Provo-the Ellen (148-150 West Center), the Rex (98-West Center), and the Majestic (70 North Academy). After building this, build ing, the Princess Theatre, about 1913, he sold his Rex Theatre Co. to A. C. Stablings in order to finance the largest of his theatres-the Columbia, retaining this building which he continued to manage through the 1920s. |
