The roof is flat, the two upper series of windows are three sections. The top half of the upper windows have been filled in. There is a center entrance flanked by two windows on either. The window, the bracketed cornice, the brick piers along the west side, make for a very symmetrical, rhythmic facade. The interior has not been altered greatly, although the two upper floors are used mainly for storage. In 1921 Arthur N. Taylor, Albert F. Dixon, and Sidney W. Russell organized a corporation, built a buildng and established a furniture business, Dixon, Taylor, Russell Co. The corporation represented a break within the Taylor family and from the Taylor Brothers Co. Arthur had been vice-president at that company. Albert F. Dixon had been in partnership with his father in the Dixon Real State Co. before moving to Spanish Fork in 1917 to manage the Taylor Brothers branch there^ then returning to Provo to join the new business venture. Arthur's son, Elton L. Taylor, started branches of the furniture company in Pleasant Grove (1921) and in Price (1929). |
