Show development and implementation of their water conservation programs. Limitations A full exploration of all of the water agencies in the Salt Lake Valley, as well as many in other parts of the Western United States, would be ideal for a full analysis of the types of influences that exist in developing a water conservation program. However given the time and travel limitations, this was impractical for my scope of study. Using two agencies close together allowed me to look more in depth at some issues unique to water conservation along the Wasatch Front. Additionally, other variables that influence each agency's commercial and industrial water conservation programs may exist. Another limitation on this study is the time frame in which research takes place and the water cycle that takes place over the year. Most of my research was conducted in the fall and winter months of 2003 and 2004. Water conservation efforts are generally most active during the spring and summer months when water consumption tends to peak. Additionally, I decided to focus on the more recent water conservation efforts of each agency due to the information available through Duer and Mohadjer, as well as the desire to keep the study up to date. However, many of the results of these new efforts are preliminary. Additionally, the long term effects of these programs cannot be determined at this juncture. |
