Show Record I went over to Court House Rock on a prospecting trip and on 2225 over to Thompson Springs. This trip with Old Rocky was about 2226 two or three years before the first Stanton expedition. We had about the same amount of trouble navigating the Green River on the trips concerning which I have testified that we had in navi-gating the stretch of water between Cataract Canyon and Lee's Ferry, and from my observation I would say that the troubles, impediments and obstacles to travel up and down in boats are about the same on that part of the Green River between Green River, Utah, and the mouth of the Green River as it is on that part of the Colorado River lying between Cataract Canyon and Lee's Ferry. Old Rocky was an old trapper and hunter. In response to interrogatories propounded by the Special Master Harry McDonald testified as follows; 2227- 2229 I think a sand wave is those waves in a bar - the sand moving. We had difficulty with sand waves - I think it was below where the San Rafael comes in; it might have been above. That is all the trouble we had with sand waves; I do not remember whether it was above or below the San Rafael. On the first Stanton expe-dition Mr. Stanton had government maps, but I didn't have or use any on either Stanton expedition or on the Best expedition. I never kept any notes of any kind on either of these expeditions. Frederick S. Dellenbaugh, recalled for further cros ex- Amination testified as follows: 2230 I have looked over a few old photographs shown to me by the attorney for defendant and have made notations on the back of the copies of the photographs indicating where the photographs 2231 were taken. Defendant's Exhibits 5 to 10, inclusive, contain no-tations made by me of the approximate location at which they were taken and they are picture of the second Powell expedition.
